Project Gardening - Part 1

This has been a project of ours that has been a long time coming. We went back and forth on whether to go through with it or not for fear that we might not be able to keep the plants alive. But I guess that's what gardening is all about: you just never know what will happen & it doesn't hurt to give it a try.

Before...
After...
Thinking how to configure the flowers...
More thinking...
Adds just a splash of color...
We planted 6 different kinds of flowers: Gerbera, Marigold, Petunia, Salvia, Geranium, & Daylily. You may have noticed that we only did a border of the dirt area because the next step in this gardening project is to put up a little fence in the middle and plant some veggies, fruits, & herbs. Happy Gardening!

Snug as a bug...

My mom sent me this picture of the laptop and how snugly it fits in it's cover.

Netbook Laptop Cover...

For Mother's Day I wanted to do something extra special for my mom. So I decided to finally break out my new sewing machine I got for Christmas to make her a pretty laptop cover for her Acer netbook, which she got for Christmas. I used a tutorial found here: Crafty Gemini Laptop Cover . Here is how it started and how it all turned out:

The patterned-side is the outside and the purple-side is the inside, with batting in between.

I quilted the layers together and completed it with a pocket for extra storage and some binding to hide the edges.

I added some velcro for security and some handles for carrying.

Lastly, I added some pretty accents over where the velcro is located and an iron on tag to mark my work.

The finished product!
